Our Wedding

We met June 2024 while taking an online certification course to become Peer Support Specialists. When we finally met in person at graduation, sparks flew and we started dating. Over the last year and a half we’ve taken our time getting to know each other and built a steady, supportive foundation. We love simple, shared moments: playing Rummy Tiles, strolling Dana Point Harbor, spending time with Jason’s parents, and catching live music—many nights at the Coach House and shows at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. We’ve become big fans of the Ducks and the Angels, and we enjoy weekend escapes to visit friends or explore the mountains, the Central Coast, and Las Vegas. We are active members at Harbor Point Church in SJC and have successfully completed Alpha &amp; Rooted where we now have a smaller life group to continue growing our relationship with God and go through life together with!  We foster-failed and adopted our pup Schatzi in February and she joins Smokey kitty, completing our little family!  Jason proposed on 5/23/26 during a trip up to Idyllwild, and we’re so excited to celebrate our next chapter together with all of you!

Our story began…

Our Story

We’re Kimber Newman and Jason Cordova — best friends, mental health advocates, and partners in adventure. We met in 2023 during an online Peer Support Specialist course; after a few awkward calls, sparks flew at graduation and our weekly dates soon followed—dinners at Dana Point Harbor, Rummy Tiles, and long walks. We took things slow, getting to know one another through bowling, comedy shows, Coach House concerts, and hockey and baseball games. Weekend trips to Idyllwild, Las Vegas, Cayucos, Solvang, and Carlsbad, plus camping and game nights with friends, helped us grow closer. Embraced by both families and our church community, our bond deepened, and on a surprise Memorial weekend trip to Idyllwild, Jason proposed. We’re grateful for God’s grace and excited for what’s next—thank you for celebrating with us on May 1, 2027.
